Rajasthan Board RBSE Class 6 English Vocabulary Gender

परीक्षा में Gender (लिंग) सम्बन्धी प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं। इस प्रकार के प्रश्नों में MasculineGender से Femimne Gender में या Feminine Gender À Masculine Gender में शब्दों को परिवर्तित करने को कहा जाता है। जैसे

Fill in the blanks with the genders in opposite to the words given in the brackets :

यहाँ प्रथम वाक्य के अन्त में कोष्ठक में girl शब्द दिया गया है, इसका पुल्लिंग रूप boy होगा। अत: रिक्त स्थान में उत्तर के रूप में boy लिखना है। इसी प्रकार दूसरे वाक्य में woman का पुल्लिंग रूप man होगा, तथा रिक्त स्थान में उत्तर के रूप में man लिखा जायेगा। अंग्रेजी में चार Genders होते हैं

1. Masculine Gender (पुल्लिग)
2. Feminine Gender (स्त्रीलिंग)
3. Common Gender (उभयलिंग)
4. Neuter Gender (नपुंसकलिंग)।

1. Masculine Gender – जिन Nouns से पुरुष-जाति का बोध होता है, वे पुल्लिग कहलाते हैं । जैसे-man, boy, king, father, lion आदि ।
2. Feminine Gender– जिन Nouns से स्त्री-जाति का बोध होता है, वे स्त्रीलिंग कहलाते हैं जैसे- woman, girl, mother, cow, lioness आदि ।।
3. Common Gender- स्त्री तथा पुरुष दोनों के लिए प्रयोग होने वाले Nouns उभयलिंग के अन्तर्गत आते हैं । जैसे- teacher, child, student, servant, friend आदि ।
4. Neuter Gender- जो Nouns निर्जीव वस्तुओं का बोध कराते हैं, वे नपुंसकलिंग कहलाते हैं। जैसे- pen, book, table, tree, chair आदि ।

Masculine Gender À Feminine Gender बनाने के नियम

नियम 1. शब्द-परिवर्तन करके FeminineGender बनाना

नियम 2. शब्द के अन्त में ‘ess’ जोड़कर Feminine Gender बनाना। जैसे

नियम 3. अन्तिम Vowel (स्वर) को हटाकर ‘ess’ जोड़कर Feminine Gender बनाना। जैसे

नियम 4. अनियमित रूप से ess जोड़कर या ss या s लगाकर Feminine Gender बनाना । जैसे

नियम 5. कुछ Masculine का Feminine उपर्युक्त नियमों के अनुसार नहीं बनता है । जैसे

नियम 6. आदि या अन्त के शब्द को बदलकर Feminine Gender बनाना। जैसे

कुछ महत्वपूर्ण Masculine के Feminine रूप

N.B. आजकल ऐसे शब्दों का प्रचलन बढ़ता जा रहा है जिनको पुल्लिग (masculine) तथा स्त्रीलिंग (feminine) दोनों के ही साथ समान रूप से किया जा सकता है । ऐसे शब्दों को common gender कहते हैं । इन्होंने परम्परागत gender का स्थान ले। लिया है।
